Fantastic experience
I've done many tours over the years but never experienced the warmth this group has shown. I wanted something different to propose to my girlfriend and have a memory that will never be forgotten.
The event starts out in the Umbria countryside not far from Todi, recently rated one of Umbria's best kept secrets by Conde Nast traveller. The scenery is magnificent. The treetop meal was arranged by Italian Touch, a tour operator and wedding planner who truly treated us like family. While I emailed Rosemarie about 20 times to make sure everything was right, she was always courteous and full of ideas that I could never have thought of.
The event begins at a farm house with the owner (and his family) giving us a personal tour of the property, showing us some of the foods we would be eating for lunch that day. We proceeded to the treetop with a fabulous view and the presentation just continued to amaze us, Also amazing, the tour director (Rosemarie) and her partner (Giulia - spelling?) stayed the entire time to make sure everything went just right (which it did). As described, all of the food was organic and absolutely outstanding. Cheers for the wine as well.
Now for the really exciting part - all put together by Rosemary and the rest of the staff at Italian-touch. After lunch it was time for dessert. Not just any dessert but a special "baci" chocolate that was used with a message to propose to my now fiance. From there, Italian Touch really stepped up to the plate. There were balloons, a guitarist serenading us, a video camera and a photographer (hidden during the proposal) making it a very special time. Even more meaningful was the empathy that was shown by Rosemary, Guilia, the owners and everyone else who participated. They are like family.
As if that wasn't enough, Italian Touch arranged a horse and carriage ride through and organic vineyard. How cool is that!
It was a special day and one we will never forget because of the efforts of people we never met before.
