Important information	With this ticket you are buying the transfer to Vesuvius. Included in the ticket is the bus to climb Mount Vesuvius, travel time 30 minutes. Once on Vesuvius, you will have 2 hours to visit the Vesuvius Park and return to the bus. We will leave from Vesuvius and return to the station in 30 minutes.Total duration 3 hours IMPORTANT, the Vesuvius entrance ticket is not included in the transfer. Expérience avril 2024.
J'avais réservé le Vesuvio Express pour 16h sur le site https://www.vesuvioexpress.it/ et séparément, l'entrée au Vésuve à 16h30 sur le site https://vesuviopark.vivaticket.it/. Il faut être bien à l'heure pour le Vesuvio Express. Pour l'entrée au Vésuve, il y a une marge de 40 minutes avant l'heure de réservation et 100 minutes après. Cela revenait moins cher pour 1 adulte et 3 jeunes de moins de 18 ans de réserver séparément sur ces deux sites que tout ensemble (12€ par personne pour le Vesuvio Express + 11,68 € adulte et 9,55 € jeune pour l'entrée au Vésuve). Tout s'est parfaitement bien déroulé. Le bus du Vesuvio Express se prend sur la piazzale Stazione à Ercolano (juste à côté de l'arrêt de train "Ercolano Scavi" qui arrive de Napoli ou de Sorrente). Le bus est parti à l'heure à quelques minutes prêt. Nous sommes arrivés au Vésuve vers 16h35. La durée de la montée en bus peut varier en fonction de la circulation. En effet, la route n'est pas très large. Il faut parfois s'arrêter pour laisser passer d'autres bus qui redescendent. Quand il nous a déposé, le chauffeur nous a indiqué que nous devions être de retour au bus à 18h. Ensuite, nous avons mis environ 30 minutes pour monter à pied jusqu'au cratère, puis environ 30 minutes sur place et 25 minutes pour redescendre à pied et revenir au bus. Il ne faut pas trainer mais c'est suffisant. Sur place, on peut admirer le cratère et en faire un peu le tour (c'est un cul de sac). Cela permet d'avoir une vue d'abord sur Napoli, Ercolano (Herculanum) puis de l'autre côté sur Sorrente, Pompéi. La vue était dégagée. C'est vraiment très beau. On a senti une légère odeur de soufre et on a vu de la fumée sortir. Nous étions de retour à Ercolano Scavi à 18h45. C'était une belle expérience.

A bit disappointed in the shuttle experience, but it got me from point A to point B and back. Easy to exchange digital ticket for paper ticket in the office. Bus left 40 minutes after the time slot I reserved. I understand in low season they wait for a bus to fill up to maximize profits, but please reduce the available time options to buy accordingly. I ended up waiting around for nearly an hour to depart after racing there from the Portici train station. Would have made it to the top at the same time taking the slower local €2 EAV bus. The seats were comfortable, but the USB outlets, A/C and reading lights did not work. No stop on the way up as advertised. When we got to the top the driver advised everyone to run straight to the entrance because some of the tickets were minutes from expiring, which would deny entry (both those Vesuvius Express provided as the package deal, and the ones people purchased separately planning for an on time departure). We had just enough time to walk to the top, snap a few pics, and walk fast back down to the gate. On the way down our shuttle hit a car. The woman chased us down and we waited in the middle of the road while everything got sorted out between them. It seemed like a non-event for the driver, but he was arguing loudly with someone on the phone for the final 10 minutes of the ride. For awareness, we were dropped off around 5 minutes downhill from where we were picked up by the train station. Not a problem for me, but it was voiced as a bit of an inconvenience for the older folk in our bus who were already exhausted from the hike at the top. Overall ok experience, but next time we will save the extra 10€ each and take the public bus to have more flexibility in our time to stay at the top.

Vesuvio Express provides reliable and relatively inexpensive transport to the park entrance at Vesuvius...but it isn't perfect. While quite easy to find (located just outside of the train station), there seems to be a lot of miscommunication within the company. For starters, we ordered our tickets online for a 9:10am bus, but when we got there they told us that the bus wasn't until 9:30am. I also double-confirmed with the lady at the desk regarding how much time we would have on the volcano; she told me (twice) that we would have two hours to explore once we were dropped off. This matched the information provided on the website. Upon reaching the park, however, the driver told us to return within 1 hour and 30 minutes. That half hour definitely matters, especially for individuals who might need/use more time to complete the ascent to the crater.

It's also important to realize that the standard Vesuvio Express tickets do not include entrance to Vesuvius. You will need to purchase these tickets separately before driving up the mountain. Vesuvio Express does offer a combo ticket, but we purchased our tickets directly from the park website as I was worried the specific timeslot we wanted would sell out.

Overall, using Vesuvio Express is a pretty good option. I'm giving it four stars for convenience, but keep in mind that you may not have the full two hours they advertise.

I was trying to reach the company via WhatsApp and Email, just to ask for some help about booking, since the whole process of reaching Vesuvio looks so complicated online... but no one ever answered, not a single message! If they did, they would save us a lot of stress and anxiety, leaving a lot of personal data online (including passport numbers, which is completely not necessary!). When we finally registered to both their website and Vesuvio official website, and bought everything we need (transfer + park tickets separately), we decided to go to Ercolano and see what happens.
In their office, to French people bought it all for 25€ on the spot, they were care free, they didn't feel stressed for the past two days. If only we knew that we can buy both transfer and Vesuvio tickets in their Ercolano office our mood would be much better!
Bus departed at 9.30 with few empty seats, the ride was smooth even though the weather was terrible, foggy and rainy. Bus back departed at 12.20 instead of 12h sharp, we were sitting in the bus with no reason. We could spend more time up on the mountain if we knew...

Overall, great transfer option!
You CAN buy tickets in their office in Ercolano, don't bother registering online. Oh, and bring cash because they don't accept cards (internet working flawlessly in Ercolano, we spent 45min having coffee in the bar in front, so no reason to not accept cards).
We strongly suggest that you, as a company, start respecting your clients and answer their questions (you say on your website that we can ask for help, but you provide no help). Cashier in the office is also pretty cold and uninterested to provide info.

You can buy Vesuvius crater tickets directly for about 11,68, or through a re-seller like this for 18,00. I bought them directly and saved a few euros, but I admit that finding and navigating the official website is not straightforward.

Regardless of where you buy your crater tickets, you can get to Vesuvius either via the Vesuvius Express (12,00) or the 808 bus (probably less), or by driving yourself (not an easy drive). I opted for the Vesuvius Express because the schedule was better, but I mention both options in case you miss a bus and need both options.

The transfer worked, but was disorganized. Firstly, they could provide better instructions about where to go (west end of the parking lot just south of the station). Secondly, when I checked in, they told me I needed to exchange my electronic ticket for a paper ticket at the east end of the parking lot. Of course there were twenty of us trying to do that all at the same time, which completely defeats the purpose of buying a skip-the-line ticket. Note that this was just for the bus ticket, as the bus driver handed out separate paper crater tickets to the people who reserved both. I somehow made it onto the first bus, which left on schedule. As there were many people still waiting, I assume there was a second bus that left a few minutes later, but I cannot confirm (you can read the other reviews to figure that out). We then went to Vesuvius for two hours, and the bus left Vesuvius on time for the return transfer. However, we seemed to have gained 2 or 3 passengers on the return trip and the bus was overfull (though they still let everyone on).

Overall, I cannot think of a better way to visit Vesuvius, but again, this could be more organized.

The views from the top of Vesuvius were absolutely incredible. The bus took us from Ercolano Scavi train station to the start of the 20 minute hike to the summit. We were given plenty of time to climb, take of photos, have a coffee, buy some souvenirs, and hike back down to the bus. We travelled in February so it was quite cold coming back from the hike, but we were greeted with a nice warm bus to take us back to Ercolano.

The only issue we had was with the online booking system. I booked the tickets the night before but when we arrived at the ticket desk, the staff explained that we had booked tickets on their summer timetable... which didn't really make any sense, since our tickets were booked in February, for a date and time in February. If my tickets were booked in February, how could I have booked onto their summer timetable? I think someone really needs to look into updating and sorting out the online ticket system as a matter of priority. There was another family with small children ahead of us who faced the same problem. They were told to wait until there was space available for them on another bus. They were visibly upset and unhappy when they saw us take the last 2 seats on a differnt bus - even though they were there before us. It was quite embarrassing. I think this could have been avoided with a more modernised, and up to date booking system.

Our bus driver was excellent, and knew how to handle the windy roads and traffic in the town. The views of the Bay of Naples were stunning. Overall we really enjoyed our trip up Mount Vesuvius and would definitely do it again.
